5 Types of Pressing Irons

Ironing is universally not an enjoyable chore to do. A lot of us will prefer to have our clothes pressed by anybody but us! With the busy lifestyles many of us lead today, it is even more important that we get our clothes pressed.

A lot of us probably have no idea that there are different types of pressing irons depending on our needs and preferences. With the right information, choosing the right type of iron should not be a problem.

In this article, we will be discussing the five types of iron. every iron you purchase should fall under any of these five types of iron-based on the feature the iron has.

The Basic Cloth Iron

As the name implies, this type of iron is the most basic. This type of iron is light and small. It only has the basic features you need to be able to iron your clothes such as an on and off button, a temperature control knob a metal plate, and a handle. This type of iron is not as big as a full-sized one. There is nothing extra about this type of iron. Some call it dry iron has it doesn’t have the steam function.

The Steam Iron

This is probably the most popular type of iron. This type of iron is usually bigger than a basic cloth iron, has more weight to it. It also has the most features including steam vents on the bottom plate for better crease removal. The steam can be turned off or on depending on your preference. A common misconception about this type of iron is that you have to use water with it. However, this is not true as it also has a small water tank built-in. If you want to be able to iron your clothes faster than the basic cloth iron and you don’t mind spending more on iron, then this type of iron is for you.

The Vertical Steam Iron

This type of iron is best for removing the wrinkles in your clothes quickly. This type of iron has a vertical steam function, which means that it only emits steam while you are pushing it down on your clothes. It can get out deep-set wrinkles much better than other types of irons. Its sleek design also makes it easy to maneuver around your clothes. Also, it is pricier than other types of irons because of added features such as vertical steam and sleek design. You don’t have to press down on the clothes to get them straightened out.

Travel Iron

If you are one of those people who always pack light, then this type of iron will be perfect for you. This type of iron is compact and lightweight making it easy to carry around while traveling. It has the basic features built into it that other irons have such as an on/off button, temperature control knob, etc. Also, some travel irons have a steam feature, but if yours doesn’t have this feature, you can always buy one as an accessory to make it work as a regular steam iron.

The Professional Iron

This type of iron is made for those who need it the best. This is not your average iron; it has more bells and whistles than other types of irons including steam jets to iron out deep-set wrinkles and a spray mist feature. This type of iron is also pretty pricey so if you have the money, go get this type right away. There is a reason why this type of iron is the most expensive it has the best features.
